Certified Flight Registered Nurses (CFRN)

Working as a registered nurse (RN) in a hospital or care facility is a demanding career. Running tests, caring for patients, administering emergency medicine and helping doctors are just a few of the many duties on an RN. Sometimes RNs feel a need to help patients in an even more specialized and demanding position. For these nurses, their passion can literally take them to the sky. Becoming a Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) provides RNs the skills and training necessary to operate independently and in close quarters with critical care individuals while flying at high speeds and altitudes on medical flights.

The flight nurse is responsible for providing nursing care and in-flight management of patient conditions. On medical flights, the certified flight registered nurse provides all of the compassionate medical care the patient may require. They are in charge of monitoring vitals, evaluating health conditions and handling emergency medical situations.  Their care keeps the patient conditions stable. The expertise show in these situations is a direct result of their training and experience.

Flight nurses are required to hold a variety of advanced medical certifications related to the administering of in-flight medical care. Among these certifications are Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Certified Flight Registered Nurses are capable of managing even the most complex and critical health conditions throughout air ambulance flights. Regardless of whether they have to administer medication, provide basic life support or even advanced cardiac life support, these nurses go above and beyond to provide medical care and help others.

Angel MedFlight Worldwide Air Ambulance Service holds all of its CFRNs to the highest standards of medical care, training and experience. On all air medical flights there are at least two certified air medical personnel no more than an arm’s length away from the patient at all times. They hold multiple advanced medical care certifications and have years of critical care training. These medical flight registered nurses have the training and experience to provide compassionate care for any patient, in any condition throughout the entirety of the flight.
